This Daniel & Webster Art design features the 1958 Gardening/Horticulture stamp issued in conjunction with a centennial celebration of the birth of noted horticulturalist Liberty Hyde Bailey. Bailey (1858-1954) founded the College of Agriculture at Cornell University in 1888, and was the dominant figure in the field of horticulture until his death in 1954.
